Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa received a delegation from the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), led by FIBA Secretary-General Andreas Zagklis and FIBA Treasurer Ingo Weis, who is alsos German Basketball Federation Chairman. The meeting was also attended by Bahrain Olympic Committee Deputy President HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Aymen bin Tawfiq Almoayyed and Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA) Chairman Walid Al Alawi. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa stressed the importance of cooperation with the International Basketball Federation, which contributes to supporting the BBA's efforts to upgrade the technical and administrative system and work side by side in order to implement plans, programs and initiatives that meet the needs of Bahraini basketball. He commended joint cooperation with FIBA, which contributed to implementing development programmes aimed to support basketball in Bahrain. He gave directives to BBA officials to benefit from FIBA programmes to support the national basketball team , which progressed tangibly at all levels. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, thanked His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on issuing Decree-Law 42 of 2022, amending some provisions of Amiri Decree 5 of 1983 on amending Amiri Decree 2 of 1975 regarding the establishment of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport. HH Shaikh Nasser said that the decree will contribute to the development of youth and sports fields in the Kingdom. He praised the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The Supreme Council for Youth & Sports thanked HM the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for the government's support to youth and sports in the Kingdom. The decree promotes the Council's visions and policies that are drawn up by HH Shaikh Nasser to develop the youth and sports action in the country, and continue to reap the achievements in the golden age. The decree confirmed that the Council is concerned with drawing up the general policy of ministries, authorities and institutions related to youth and sports, especially those related to the development of youth and sports affairs. The decree also draws up the policy related to youth relations between Bahrain and other relevant international organizations and bodies, and its participation in International conferences. It also sets a policy for establishing private facilities in the youth and sports sectors and follows up on their implementation, all within the country’s general policy.more
HM the King’s Personal Representative, President of the Supreme Council for Environment, His Highness Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, welcomed HM the King’s Personal Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Captain of the Royal Endurance Team, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, upon arrival at the Al-Sakhir Airbase today. First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, General Sports Authority Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in addition to a number of senior officials and ministers, were also present. HH Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad welcomed HH Shaikh Nasser on his return, renewing his congratulations to him following the success of the Royal Endurance Team, under HH’s captaincy, in winning the title of the FEI World Endurance Championship for eight-year-old horses in Spain, outclassing 57 elite riders representing 20 countries in the 120km race. Over 57 endurance riders representing 20 countries worldwide took part in the race which was held today in Spain. His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa followed up the race, during which HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa triumphed, outclassing rivals from Uruguay, the United Arab Emirates, Spain and other countries. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Royal Endurance Team Captain, was congratulated by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa immediately after triumphing in the race. Al Rahawi, owned by HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa triumphed in the Saudi Crown Prince Camel Festival 2022. Al Rahawi shone in the festival, winning the second evening race in “Laqaya Qaadan” class, clocking 5 minutes and 57 seconds. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad hailed the new victory which confirmed the strategy set out for Bahrain camel sports in external competitions. HH Shaikh Nasser, Royal Endurance Team captain, received the cup after winning the 160-kilometre race, clocking 7 hours, 55 minutes and 42 seconds. Royal Endurance Team rider Jaffer Mirza received a cup for second place, while teammate Spanish jockey Rocio Esperanza Herrera finished third. Royal Endurance Team rider Uruguayan Cecilia finished fourth, followed by Raed Mahmoud, while HH Shaikh Isa bin Faisal bin Rashid Al-Khalifa came ninth. Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Royal Endurance Team Captain, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has today won the Montalcino international endurance championship. Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Environment, Deputy Chairman of the High Authority of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, member of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa attended the event. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa finished first in the 160-kilometre race to claim another major trophy and confirm the standing of Bahrain’s endurance sport. HH Shaikh Nasser said that the the royal team’s participation in the race achieved its goals in order to qualify in the upcoming world championship. “The first places achieved by the team in the 160 km and 120 km races confirm the team’s standing in The European sports arena”, he said. He praised the efforts and performane of the the jockeys throughout the races, hailing their keenness to achieve positive results in the Montalcino international endurance championship. HH Shaikh Nasser finished first in the 160 km race, which was held in six stages, clocking 9 hours, 6 minutes and 30 seconds on his horse “Falut”. Meanwhile, jockey Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa did not pass the veterinary examination after the conclusion of the sixth round. Royal Team jockey Muhammad Abdul Samad, won the 120 km race, clocking 6 hours, 10 minutes and 32 seconds, while the jockey Youssef Al-Jubouri came in second place, posting 6 hours, 10 minutes and 33 seconds. Third-placed Khalifa Jamal Al-Sindi covered the distance of the race in 7 hours and 29 minutes. Jockey Abdul Rahman Al-Khatri was able to successfully finish the 100 km race for juniors, while the jockey Muhammad Al-Ruwaii achieved fourth place in the 120 km race for juniors. The 120 km race witnessed the participation of the young jockey, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa.
