Leadership & National Roles
H.H. Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa holds the position of National Security Advisor, Commander of the Royal Guard and General Secretary of the Supreme Council for Defence. His Highness is also the Personal Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian and Youth Affairs, President of the Supreme Council for Youth & Sports, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bapco Energies, President of the Higher Commission for Financial Coordination and Cooperation, Deputy President of the Supreme Authority of the Royal Fund for Martyrs of Duty, Deputy Chairman of the Higher Committee for Energy and Natural Resources, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Charity Organization, member of the Economic Development Board, Honorary Chairman of the Nasser Bin Hamad Foundation and Honorary President of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian & Endurance Federation.

Military Service
As Commander of the Royal Guard, His Highness oversees the operations and strategic planning of the Royal Guard’s functions and regiments, joint-country or domestic, and monitors its growth and development. His Highness established an elite contingent, the Special Quick Reaction Force, within the Royal Guard. His Highness participated in the Saudi-led Operations Decisive Storm and Restoring Hope by commanding the first Royal Guard Task Force in 2015.
Youth, Sports & Community Development
His Highness oversees the functions and planning of the Ministry for Youth and Sport Affairs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality national projects that encourage community involvement. His Highness spearheads and sponsors sports programs that empower Bahraini youth. He is an active triathlon competitor and regularly participates in national and international equestrian endurance championships and camel racing.

Humanitarian Work
As Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Charity Organization, His Highness contributes to the organization’s strategy and development. His Highness visited the Al Zaatari Refugee Camp in Jordan and inaugurated the Bahrain School for Syrian refugees on November 25, 2012. In February 2014, His Highness signed an agreement in the Philippines to build two vocational training centers and a 500-home residential complex following a devastating typhoon.

Energy & Economic Leadership
As Chairman of Bapco Energies, His Highness is leading the industry toward sustainable energy production. Under his leadership, the company has initiated plans to maximize value creation, optimize solutions and tap into alternative energy sources to meet the Kingdom’s energy requirements and global competition.

Education & Military Training
His Highness joined the Royal Military Academy of Sandhurst in the United Kingdom from 2005 to 2006, receiving King Hussein’s Medal for Outstanding Overseas Cadet and achieving the rank of Second Lieutenant. He attended the U.S. Marine Corps Command and Staff College in Quantico, Virginia, from 2010 to 2011.

Awarded by the 4th Arab Giving Forum – Zayed Giving Initiative.
Medal of Honour
Awarded by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
ANOC Medal
Awarded in appreciation of major contributions to international sports.
Best Arab Rider Award
Awarded following third place at the World Endurance Championship in Slovakia.
Order of Ahmad Al Fateh
Awarded in honor of winning first place at the FEI Endurance World Championship 2022, held in the UAE.
