The Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa on Bahrain’s junior national basketball team winning the Arab Championship held in Egypt. His Highness affirmed that the outstanding efforts of the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa resulted in this remarkable achievement, which embodies the pioneering steps of the Khalid bin Hamad Gold Generation League initiative, which aims to prepare a promising generation of athletes capable of representing the Kingdom in the best way. His Highness explained that this honorable achievement reflects the determination, perseverance and high potential of Bahraini youth, which qualifies them to reach podiums. His Highness pointed out that this generation of players will be a cornerstone for the future of Bahraini basketball, praising the high spirit shown by the players throughout the championship. The Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, and Captain of the Royal Endurance Team His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa was crowned the winner of the Rushford Endurance 120-km race held in the United Kingdom, in the presence of the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and the Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment, Deputy Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club High Committee and member of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad secured first place after successfully completing the four stages of the race amid widespread participation from riders. On the occasion, His Highness affirmed that winning first place in the race is a great motivation for the team ahead of its important upcoming championships, stressing the determination to highlight the status of Bahraini endurance in international forums. His Highness also affirmed achieving many goals during this participation, as the riders gained more exposure and experience, which will contribute to raising their technical abilities in future participations. His Highness congratulated all the riders who won first place in the various races. His Highness beat Abdullah Al Bastaki from the United Arab Emirates, who came in second, while Singh from the MRM team came in third. The Royal Endurance Team secured second and third place in the 100-km race, with Zuhair Mohammed coming in second and Asim Janahi coming in third. Hamad Al Kaabi from the United Arab Emirates won first place in the 160 km race, with his teammate Saif Al Mazrouei coming in second, while Royal Team rider Mohammed Abdul Samad won third place.more

The National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander, Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa received the outgoing United States Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Steven Craig Bondy, in the presence of the Deputy National Security Advisor Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa. His Highness affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States have historical relations and a distinguished strategic partnership, which spans decades of joint cooperation and coordination to serve common goals and interests. His Highness praised the efforts exerted by the US Ambassador in enhancing and developing relations between the two countries. During the meeting, His Highness reviewed with the US Ambassador a number of topics of common interest.more

His Highness reaffirmed the strategic importance of aligning the Group’s long-term strategy with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s national energy goals, reaffirming the commitment to sustainable growth, institutional resilience, and leadership in energy transition. The Board meeting also focused on reviewing strategic updates and progress from the first and second quarters of the year on key group-wide initiatives, commending ongoing efforts to enhance organizational performance and drive integrated value across Bapco Energies and its subsidiaries. During the meeting, Mr. Mark Thomas, Group CEO of Bapco Energies, provided an overview of the evolving energy landscape, outlining opportunities for innovation, investment, and transformation to ensure continued adaptability and global competitiveness. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), affirmed that the launch of the Academic Excellence Authority embodies the noble vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. His Highness explained that this vision aims to support and empower Bahraini youth academically and professionally, and to prepare them to be active contributors to the nation's continued development and prosperity towards a sustainable future. His Highness further stated that the Authority serves as a national strategic platform to embrace an elite group of academically outstanding youth and to harness their potential in the fields of scientific research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. “This will elevate Bahrain's competitiveness at regional and international levels,” His Highness pointed out, adding that the Authority’s work aligns with the directives of the esteemed government, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in making youth a priority in the government's work programme. Moreover, His Highness stressed that investing in national scientific talents is an investment in Bahrain’s present and future. He emphasised this by stating: “Youth are half of the present and all of the future. The Authority will play a role in uniting these distinguished Bahraini minds, providing them a gateway to make an impact within an ideal environment that fosters creativity and innovation.” These remarks were made during the official launch ceremony for the Academic Excellence Authority, an event attended by His Excellency Mr Aymen bin Tawfeeq Almoayed, Secretary General of the SCYS, and Her Excellency Ms Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs. Also in attendance were more than 100 outstanding students and graduates who have met the Authority's admission criteria. In his speech, Mr Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Jalal, Chairman of the Academic Excellence Authority, expressed his utmost appreciation and gratitude to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his continuous patronage of youth initiatives. He affirmed that the Authority was launched with a vision from His Highness, with the goal of being more than just a recognition initiative, but rather a knowledge-based youth platform that inspires, empowers, and creates an impact. Mr Jalal continued, stating: "Your Highness, you inspire our thoughts, you are the role model for our generation, and the driving force behind our ambitions. Moreover, His Highness Shaikh Nasser stated that this initiative directly reflects His Majesty the King's dedication to empowering young people and activating their role in advancing the Kingdom’s comprehensive national development. He further stated that advancing youth, developing their skills, nurturing their capabilities, and supporting their innovations form the very essence of the national and governmental approach. “This direction, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, is aimed at preparing a qualified generation of Bahrainis capable of leading the future with efficiency and competence,” His Highness stressed. These remarks came during His Highness's visit to Youth City 2030, where he was accompanied by His Excellency Mr Aymen bin Tawfeeq Almoayed, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), and Her Excellency Ms Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs. These prospects contribute to building leadership qualities and strengthening their abilities to lead the future with confidence and skill,” His Highness underscored. “What we have witnessed, from the innovative and distinguished programmes alongside the wide participation from youth, has reinforced our conviction in the importance of continuing Youth City 2030 in the coming years. This must be done while maintaining the high standard of training that meets the aspirations of our youth and prepares them to face the challenges of the future with confidence and capability,” His Highness concluded. During the tour, His Highness was briefed on the City's key offerings, which are structured around five main centres: Science and Technology; Arts and Culture; Leadership and Entrepreneurship; Media and Entertainment; and Sports and Health. These centres collectively provide over 5,500 training opportunities through 195 specialised programmes, in addition to supporting 84 entrepreneurial projects and hosting 150 accompanying events. It is worth noting that the entire initiative is managed with high efficiency by 248 young Bahraini volunteers.more

His Highness Shaikh Nasser praised the Group’s efforts and ongoing achievements in the development of the energy portfolio, aligning with the goals set in the Economic Vision 2030 to advance this vital sector. His Highness also commended the role of Bapco Energies’ Executive Management in strengthening the Company’s strategic partnerships with leading organizations regionally. This includes the successful issuance of a 10-year, USD 1 billion Sukuk and the signing of an agreement with EOG International, a leading U.S.-based hydrocarbon exploration company. The meeting discussed the consolidated financial statements for the fiscal year ending 31st December 2024, underscoring the Group’s strong financial performance amidst a challenging economic environment. The Board showcased the Group’s progress in line with the goals set for the year and highlighted Bapco Energies' strong operational excellence as it transforms Bahrain's energy landscape. Additionally, the progress made in centralizing the organization and streamlining key business processes was reviewed. During the meeting, Mr. Mark Thomas, the Group CEO of Bapco Energies, presented the executive report to the Board of Directors, highlighting the achievements made during the first quarter of 2025. The report covered the Company's overall performance and provided updates on the Group’s major projects. This visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States, and was attended by His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, Deputy National Security Advisor.
During the meeting, Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser emphasized the depth of the strategic and historical ties that bind the two nations. He noted that the Bahraini-American partnership is continuously evolving across various fields, driven by mutual understanding and a shared commitment to enhancing cooperation at all levels.
