A telephone call was held between Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander and Secretary-General of the Supreme Defence Council and Tassos Tsezonis, National Security Advisor of Cyprus. During the call, the latest developments in the region regarding Iran’s hostile attacks on the Kingdom of Bahrain and brotherly and friendly countries were reviewed. Both sides reiterated their condemnation of these attacks and the ongoing escalation, which violate state sovereignty and international laws and norms. The call also affirmed the depth of relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Cyprus and their development across various fields. The two sides also discussed ways to further develop partnerships and bilateral cooperation to serve mutual interests.more
His Highness: Bahrain is in good hands because, in difficult times, it relies on young people who remain steadfast in their positions His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, affirmed that Bahraini youth embody the story of a nation renewed with hope, which is moving forward through the vision and ambition of its youth, noting that the future is being built today through their efforts, ideas and belief in their ability to make a positive impact. His Highness explained that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's support of the youth, reflects a firm belief in their pivotal role and confidence in their ability to shape a brighter future for the Kingdom of Bahrain. His Highness also noted that the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, continues to open up broader horizons for young people and enhances their role as active partners in the development process, within a supportive environment that nurtures their ambitions and empowers them. This came during His Highness’s meeting, attended by Ayman bin Tawfiq Al-Moayyad, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister for Youth Affairs, with more than 400 young men and women from youth leadership groups, via video conference, on the occasion of Bahraini Youth Day, which falls on 25 March 2026, under the slogan ‘Unity Grows…A Nation Rises’. In his speech, His Highness conveyed the greetings of His Majesty the King to the youth of Bahrain, along with His Majesty’s appreciation for their role in advancing, prospering and protecting their country. His Highness said: “In this situation, we do not view the Kingdom’s youth merely as young people; rather, we see you as a force and a shield, and the hope of an entire nation. In times of peace, everyone speaks of ambition, but in times of challenge, it becomes clear who carries the nation through their actions. We are all living through a moment of choice and trial, in which we test the true character of the Bahraini people.” His Highness added: “In these circumstances, we must uphold the name of Bahrain as it should be upheld, and in the current times, we are judged by our actions towards Bahrain. Today is your day, and strength lies in steadfastness and unity.” His Highness continued: “We are not the first generation to face challenges; Bahrain has faced great challenges, and everyone who coveted Bahrain has failed. But this generation is being tested at this very moment. We do not need a louder voice, but a stronger stance; we do not need more words, but heroes who, when they speak, are believed.” His Highness added: “Bahrain is not measured by the size of its territory; it has taught the world a lesson that strength does not lie in size, but in steadfastness, unity and resolve. Be the generation whose roots run deep in the earth, unafraid of storms and unaltered by circumstances. Be the kind of young people whose resolve grows stronger when times get tough, and whose steadfastness increases when danger looms. Be the smiling youth. You represent the Kingdom in every forum, and its future lies in your hands.” His Highness also said: “Bahrain is in good hands, for in times of difficulty it relies on young people who stand firm in their commitment to protecting the Kingdom. Seeing you lifts my spirits; we take pride in the stances, solidarity, generosity and volunteering of our youth. The history of young people is written in gold, and achievement is their hallmark.” His Highness highlighted the inspiring initiatives undertaken by young people, which reflect cooperation and generosity, emphasising that these efforts help foster hope and reinforce collective action, which supports the nation’s progress and strengthens its cohesion. His Highness called on young people to continue to invest in their abilities, and to believe in their role in shaping the future, emphasising that every step they take is a building block for a brighter tomorrow. His Highness also affirmed the importance of strengthening channels of communication among young people and creating broader spaces for interaction and the exchange of experiences, which increases opportunities for them to make an impact and be creative. His Highness concluded by emphasising his confidence in the youth of Bahrain, noting that they will always remain a source of national pride and key partners in shaping the nation’s future, with a positive spirit, renewed ambition and unwavering faith. For their part, the youth expressed pride in this meeting, which reflects the leadership’s keenness to listen to them. Her Highness Shaikha Sheema bint Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Head of Humanitarian Voluntary Initiatives at the Royal Humanitarian Foundation, visited Salmaniya Medical Complex to check on the health of those injured from Sitra and other areas as a result of the hostile Iranian attacks that targeted residential neighbourhoods and civilian infrastructure, as part of the humanitarian volunteer initiatives (Sheyam Al Khair). During the visit, Her Highness conveyed to them the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, and their wishes for a speedy recovery, praying to Allah Almighty to grant them lasting good health and happiness. Her Highness also presented gifts to the injured children, in a humanitarian gesture that brought them joy. Her Highness wished them a speedy recovery and continued health and well-being. Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander conveyed the condolences of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces to the family of the Bahraini woman who passed away as a result of Iran's hostile aggression, as His Highness offered his condolences to the family of the deceased. Colonel His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Guard’s Special Operations also offered his condolences. Their Highnesses were accompanied by Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa, Capital Governor. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa offered his deepest condolences to the family of the deceased, praying to Allah Almighty to rest her soul in eternal paradise and grant her family patience and solace. The Humanitarian Volunteer Initiatives Team (Sheyam Al Khair) led by Her Highness Shaikha Sheema bint Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Head of Humanitarian Voluntary Initiatives at the Royal Humanitarian Foundation, participated in preparing more than 400 Iftar meals at the Foundation's Netaj Khair Al Bahrain headquarters, as part of the ‘Iftar Saem’ initiative organised by Netaj. Her Highness also participated in preparing the Iftar table for the residents of one of the shelters and had Iftar with them, reflecting social solidarity and compassion during the holy month of Ramadan. Her Highness Shaikha Sheema bint Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa also presented gifts to the children at the shelter to bring them joy and share the Ramadan spirit with them, which reflects humanitarian concern for children and families in such circumstances. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, received the "Nasser Al Bina'a" team from Ibn Khuldoon National School as part of His Highness's keenness to support youth initiatives and promote volunteer work in the Kingdom of Bahrain. His Highness affirmed that the "Nasser Al Bina'a" project is a model of meaningful youth initiatives that reflect the spirit of giving and teamwork among Bahraini youth. His Highness pointed out that the community and humanitarian initiatives offered by the team embody the authentic values of the Bahraini society and confirms the ability of young people to serve and develop society. His Highness praised the efforts of the team in implementing volunteer projects that have a tangible positive impact on society, wishing them continued success. During the meeting, His Highness was briefed on the initiatives undertaken by the ‘Nasser Al Binaa’ team with the support and follow-up of the Nasser Al Khair Organisation. Among these initiatives are the restoration and maintenance of old houses, the development and equipping of educational facilities and centres for people with special needs, in addition to supporting small projects that empower individuals and create new opportunities for them. On March 5, 2026, The Kingdom of Bahrain, along with the United States and the United Kingdom, held extraordinary consultations under Article II of the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA). HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Secretary General of the Supreme Defense Council of the Kingdom of Bahrain, consulted with Admiral Brad Cooper, Commander of the United States Central Command, and Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton, Chief of the Defense Staff of the United Kingdom, all members of the C-SIPA Defense Working Group (DSW). DSW members discussed the current security landscape in the region, notably the hostile Iranian aggression that seeks to blatantly undermine the security and stability of the Kingdom of Bahrain and neighboring nations. All parties underscored the robust partnership and collaboration between their countries, reaffirming their shared commitment to addressing challenges to regional security and stability collectively. The DWG discussions highlighted the strategic partnership established under C-SIPA, which underlines mutual commitments to enhance security cooperation and collective deterrence against external threats. All partners reiterated their dedication to continuing to work together to confront external aggressions that may threaten any member’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. This commitment reflects the deep ties between the C-SIPA member nations and their alignment on the necessary security measures to ensure peace and stability across the region.more
