His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa participates in the Lalla Meryem Cup held in Morocco
His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, participated in the 29th Lalla Meryem Cup, held at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in the Kingdom of Morocco. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa met with His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, President of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation and held cordial talks on the Lalla Meryem Cup which coincided with the 50th Hassan II Golf Trophy. His Highness led a team comprising Hamad Al Marrisi, Moulay Abdellah Benzidane and Italian professional Anna Zanusso. The team finished third in the tournament’s gross-8 in the PRO-AM category. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa affirmed that the Lalla Meryem Cup succeeded in establishing itself as one of the premier tournaments in golf, praising the high standard witnessed during the competition and the distinguished international attendance. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, participated in the 50th Hassan II Golf Trophy, hosted by the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in the Kingdom of Morocco. The tournament is held under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of the Kingdom of Morocco, with the participation of an elite group of players. His Highness played alongside a team comprising Hamad Al Marrisi, Abdullah Binzidane and Scottish professional Colin Montgomerie. On the occasion, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa affirmed that the Hassan II Golf Trophy is one of the most prestigious golf tournaments, due to its outstanding organisation and significant international standing. His Highness praised the capabilities and advanced sporting infrastructure provided by the Kingdom of Morocco, which cemented the tournament’s global standing. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, congratulated Muharraq Club on winning the Nasser bin Hamad Premier Football League for the 2025/2026 season. His Highness affirmed that Muharraq Club’s victory came as a result of the outstanding and consistent performances it delivered throughout the season, commending the role of the club’s board of directors, chaired by Shaikh Ahmed bin Ali Al Khalifa and the board members, as well as the efforts of the technical and administrative staff and the players. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa crowned Muharraq Club champions of His Majesty the King’s Football Cup following their victory over Riffa Club in the final, which was attended by a large crowd. On the occasion, His Highness expressed pride in attending on behalf of His Majesty the King, affirming that His Majesty the King’s Football Cup is one of the most prominent national sporting events, receiving direct support from His Majesty the King. His Highness’s participation is part of his ongoing commitment to support various sports initiatives that strengthen young people’s capabilities and hone their physical abilities. Present were, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment, Deputy Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club High Committee, and Member of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed, Deputy Chairman of the General Sports Authority. His Highness won first place after completing all the physical challenges in a time of 01:28:35, successfully overcoming the seven challenges across five rounds to take his place on the podium with merit. Results showed that Yousef Farhan finished in second place with a time of 01:36:25, followed by Kenny Wallace in third place with a time of 01:38:53, Mohamed +Al-Ghais in fourth place with a time of 01:40:23, and Abdullah Salem in fifth place with a time of 01:41:34. On the occasion, His Highness affirmed that the Victorious Ultimate Endurance Challenge is one of the outstanding initiatives that strengthened the participants’ determination, patience and endurance. His Highness’s participation underscores his keenness to play golf, and reflects his support and encouragement of the participants to perform their best. On the occasion, His Highness affirmed that holding the 5th edition of the tournament signifies gratitude for the outstanding contributions made by the late Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa in supporting the sports sector, and golf in particular. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty's Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Captain of the Royal Endurance Team, participated in the 100-km international qualifying race held as part of the Ramadan competitions organised by the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation at the Bahrain International Endurance Village, in the presence of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. The race also saw the participation of His Highness Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa. His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa took part in the 40-kilometre local qualifying race and successfully completed it. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa was keen to guide his sons and follow their performance during the race, sharing his field experience with them to enhance their technical readiness for endurance competitions. His Highness affirmed that qualifying races are important for preparing riders and horses, noting that holding these competitions during Ramadan strengthens the spirit of challenge and competition among participants. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed pride in the festival’s success, affirming that the strong competition among riders and the broad participation, reflected the prestigious status of Bahraini endurance races at the regional and international levels. His Highness praised the high technical levels that contributed to the outstanding outcomes of all races, which reflects the development of endurance sports in the Kingdom. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa crowned the winners, with rider Isa Hameed Al-Anezi from Team Victorious taking first place in the 160 km His Majesty the King’s International Cup, while rider Mohamed Al Subaie from the KHK team came in second, and rider Faisal Al-Anezi from Team Victorious came in third. Omani rider Mohammed Al Foori took first place in the 120km race for private Gulf stables, while Rashed Jamal from Al Safinat Stables came second, and Omani rider Azam Al Balushi came third.more

Present were, His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Deputy Chairman of the High Committee of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, and Member of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, His Highness Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Arab Emirates. His Highness finished first place in the 160-kilometre race after delivering impressive performances throughout the five stages of the internationally classified 3-star race, with the participation of Royal Endurance Team riders Mohammed Al Hashmi and Mohammed Abdul Samad. At the end of the race, His Highness received a commemorative gift from Shaikh Rashid bin Dalmook Al Maktoum, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Racing Club, in recognition of his outstanding participation at Dubai International Endurance City. His Highness expressed his appreciation for the United Arab Emirates’s efforts in continuing to develop endurance racing. His Highness affirmed that participating in international endurance qualifying races is part of the preparation programme for the upcoming World Endurance Championship to be held in Al-Ula, Saudi Arabia, noting the importance of these participations in discovering horses with high technical readiness. His Highness added: "By participating with team members in such international races, we are keen to assess their level of readiness and identify various technical aspects, which contributes to the early selection of the team representing the Kingdom of Bahrain in various international championships." A number of the Royal Team’s riders also participated in the 120-km and 100-km races.more

The meeting was spontaneous and friendly, with His Highness engaging in conversation with the children in a positive and motivating environment, reflecting his interest in motivating them, instilling confidence and ambition, and encouraging them to enjoy playing golf and constantly strive to develop their skills. His Highness affirmed that nurturing emerging talent in golf is an investment in the future of Bahraini sports, noting that providing specialised training programmes and a supportive environment contributes to discovering young talent and honing their skills in the right way.
