His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, congratulated Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, on the occasion of Egyptian rider Mahmoud Samir El-Gharib achieving a historic milestone by qualifying to compete in the World Endurance Championship for the first time in the history of Egyptian equestrianism. His Highness affirmed his commitment to supporting Egyptian rider Mahmoud Samir El-Gharib by developing a comprehensive programme to train him to compete for a place at the World Endurance Championships, while ensuring the best technical and administrative conditions to achieve this goal. This initiative is part of the sports cooperation agreement between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Republic of Egypt, and strengthens mutual cooperation in sports, particularly endurance riding, which develops sporting talent and the exchange of expertise between the two brotherly countries. His Highness noted that this success embodies the approach adopted by the Kingdom of Bahrain in supporting Arab countries, transferring technical and administrative expertise, and enabling Arab riders to reach the highest international levels to advance Arab endurance riding. His Highness expressed his confidence in the ability of rider Mahmoud Samir to perform admirably at the World Championship, wishing him continued success and the Arab Republic of Egypt further achievements in various international sporting forums. The children of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Captain of the Royal Endurance Team, achieved outstanding results at the Samorin International Endurance Race held in Slovakia. Her Highness Shaikha Sheema bint Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa won first place in the 100km international race for the junior and youth category, while His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa won first place in the 120km international race for the junior and youth category. His Highness Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s horse failed to pass the veterinary examination in the 120km international race for the open category after the third stage. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa also participated in the 160km international race but was unable to finish due to an injury. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa emphasised that participating in the Samorin International Race had been a positive experience and achieved many of the objectives set by the team as part of its preparatory programme. His Highness noted that the riders’ results reflected the volume of work carried out over the past period and represented an important step in their preparations for upcoming events, foremost among which is the World Junior and Senior Endurance Championships to be held next year, alongside continuing to build their experience in international competitions. His Highness added that the Royal Endurance Team continues to implement its preparatory plans for young riders according to a carefully designed programme focused on achieving the highest levels of readiness and meeting the qualification requirements for participation in the World Championships for Young Rider and Juniors, scheduled to be held in Samorin in 2027. This will be a suitable opportunity to familiarise themselves with the terrain of the Samorin Village courses, which hosted the World Endurance Championship in 2016. His Highness wished all the competing riders’ success to deliver outstanding performances that reflect the prestigious standing of Bahraini endurance on the international stage. This project has been implemented upon the directives of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports. The project stems from His Highness’s commitment to support high-quality sporting initiatives and provide sports environments for young people, as well as create suitable spaces to discover talent, hone skills and strengthen their role in the Kingdom’s sporting development. The opening ceremony was attended by Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, Chief Executive Officer of the General Sports Authority and several officials. The rink is the first public facility dedicated to this sport in the Kingdom, providing a safe and well-equipped environment for skaters, particularly given the growing popularity of skating worldwide following its inclusion in the Olympic Games, which underscores the importance of providing specialised facilities that support the sport’s growth and help attract more people in Bahrain. The rink also serves as a cultural space that combines sport, creativity and community engagement, and helps to enhance quality of life by providing a variety of sporting and leisure options for young people, which supports healthy lifestyles and encourages community participation in sports activities. This project was implemented with the support and cooperation of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, the General Sports Authority, Infracorp and Premier Q, as part of efforts to develop modern sports and provide a stimulating environment for young people to pursue their hobbies and develop their skills. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, participated in the 29th Lalla Meryem Cup, held at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in the Kingdom of Morocco. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa met with His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, President of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation and held cordial talks on the Lalla Meryem Cup which coincided with the 50th Hassan II Golf Trophy. His Highness led a team comprising Hamad Al Marrisi, Moulay Abdellah Benzidane and Italian professional Anna Zanusso. The team finished third in the tournament’s gross-8 in the PRO-AM category. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa affirmed that the Lalla Meryem Cup succeeded in establishing itself as one of the premier tournaments in golf, praising the high standard witnessed during the competition and the distinguished international attendance. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, participated in the 50th Hassan II Golf Trophy, hosted by the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in the Kingdom of Morocco. The tournament is held under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of the Kingdom of Morocco, with the participation of an elite group of players. His Highness played alongside a team comprising Hamad Al Marrisi, Abdullah Binzidane and Scottish professional Colin Montgomerie. On the occasion, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa affirmed that the Hassan II Golf Trophy is one of the most prestigious golf tournaments, due to its outstanding organisation and significant international standing. His Highness affirmed that Muharraq Club’s victory came as a result of the outstanding and consistent performances it delivered throughout the season, commending the role of the club’s board of directors, chaired by Shaikh Ahmed bin Ali Al Khalifa and the board members, as well as the efforts of the technical and administrative staff and the players. His Highness also commended the tremendous support of the fans, which motivated the players throughout the season. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa crowned Muharraq Club champions of His Majesty the King’s Football Cup following their victory over Riffa Club in the final, which was attended by a large crowd. On the occasion, His Highness expressed pride in attending on behalf of His Majesty the King, affirming that His Majesty the King’s Football Cup is one of the most prominent national sporting events, receiving direct support from His Majesty the King. His Highness’s participation is part of his ongoing commitment to support various sports initiatives that strengthen young people’s capabilities and hone their physical abilities. Present were, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment, Deputy Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club High Committee, and Member of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed, Deputy Chairman of the General Sports Authority. His Highness won first place after completing all the physical challenges in a time of 01:28:35, successfully overcoming the seven challenges across five rounds to take his place on the podium with merit. Results showed that Yousef Farhan finished in second place with a time of 01:36:25, followed by Kenny Wallace in third place with a time of 01:38:53, Mohamed +Al-Ghais in fourth place with a time of 01:40:23, and Abdullah Salem in fifth place with a time of 01:41:34. On the occasion, His Highness affirmed that the Victorious Ultimate Endurance Challenge is one of the outstanding initiatives that strengthened the participants’ determination, patience and endurance.
