HM the King’s Representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, will participate in the second edition of the World Youth Forum, due to be held here under the patronage of Egyptian President, Abdul Fattah el-Sisi from November 3 to 6. HH Shaikh Nasser will be accompanied by Youth and Sports Affairs Minister, Hisham bin Mohammed Al-Jowdar. The world forum will attract an elite of world leaders, inspiring and influential personalities and those with successful experiences in various youth fields. A grand celebration will be held at the opening of the forum commensurate with its international dimension. HH Shaikh Nasser will be the key speaker during the first session of the forum, on the “Role of World Leaders in Building and Sustaining Peace”. The World Youth Forum is a platform launched by promising youth. It sends a message of peace, prosperity, harmony, and progress to the entire world. It engages youth from around the globe in an enriching set-up, allowing them to exchange views and recommend initiatives to decision-makers and influential figures. The forum offers youth an opportunity to engage with top policymakers, network with promising youth from the region and the world that are determined to make our world a better place for everyone. The World Youth Forum’s agenda is divided into various main themes, tackling topics of interest to international youth, creating a platform to express views, present ideas and share experiences throughout its sessions. The first main theme is “Peace”, and focuses on the “The Role of World Leaders in Building and Sustaining Peace”, “Euro-Mediterranean Co-operation: A Strategic Partnership”, “Humanitarian Assistance: A Global Responsibility in the Face of Challenges”, “Rebuilding Societies and States in the Context of Post-Conflict”, “The Role of Soft Power in Countering Ideological Extremism and Terrorism” and “Day Zero: Water Security in the Wake of Climate Change”. The second main theme is “Development” and covers “Volunteerism: Towards a More Responsible Society”, “Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want”, “How do We Build Future Leaders?”, “Towards Narrowing the Gender Gap in the Labour Market”, “In a Rapidly Changing World Map: “Who Provides the World with Energy?”, and “Enabling Persons with Disabilities: Towards a More Integrated World”. The third main theme is “Creativity” and covers “Employment Opportunities in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”, “Digital citizenship: digital rights and responsibilities in the Internet world”, “The Role of Art and Cinema in Shaping Societies”, “Social Media: Saving or Enslaving Users?”, and “E-Sports and Games: An Insight into the Virtual World of Electronic Games”. The forum will review prominent international experiences in rehabilitating and training youth, as well as the role of countries and societies in making future leaders. more

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, congratulated the committee on its achievements in what he described as a "Golden Year’, the BOC announced today. The announcement was made at the annual BOC board meeting, chaired by President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa in Seef. During the meeting, Shaikh Nasser commended the hard efforts of BOC and all its affiliates this year, when Bahrain took a record-breaking 391 medals in total in different sporting events, regionally and internationally. The meeting started with BOC vice president Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa congratulating Shaikh Nasser on winning first place in the World Ironman Championship’s Executive Challenge Series held in Kona, Hawaii recently. The board had talks on a number of subjects on their agenda, such as creating a joint-stock company to manage the Bahrain National Sports Medicine Centre of the Bahrain Olympic Committee in an attempt to upgrade its services for the athletes as well as other members of Bahrain society. The board also approved the decision made by the best sports federation award judging committee, which granted the award for the second consecutive year to the Bahrain Athletics Association for its remarkable achievements at various levels, and for the outstanding management of its president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. Furthermore, the board selected five promising athletes with outstanding athletic skills to participate in a special preparation program for the 2024 Olympics. They are Abdullah Janahi (sailing), Hajar Al Khaldi (athletics), Ali Ibrahim (cycling), Abdulla Abdul Karim (fencing) the Ebrahim Adnan (badminton). It was also announced that Secretary General of the BOC Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar would head Organizing Committee of the 2019 Bahrain Sports Day, which has been set to take place on February 12 next year. Also present at the meeting were board members Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, Shaikh Mohammed bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, Shaikh Hamad bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Khalid Al Khayyat, Rashid Al Zayani, Ali Esaaqi, Bader Nasser, Abdulla Al Dossary and Yousif Al Malki.more
His Majesty’s Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Council (SCYS) Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa paid tribute to HM King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, hailing the royal support which was a major boost to win the Ironman World Championship, held recently in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, the USA, beating more than 3000 participants worldwide. This came as he met, at Al-Wadi Palace in Riffa, a group of social media from Bahrain, journalists and media figures from Bahrain and the UAE, as well as distinguished Bahraini sports figures, including professional world champion Sami Al-Haddad, Bahrain Olympic Academy director Dr. Nabil Taha and former Bahraini athlete Rukaya Al-Ghasra. The meeting was attended by SCYS Vice Chairman and Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA) Chief HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Hesham bin Mohammed Al-Jowder. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa hailed the role of the press, radio, TV and the social media in supporting and promoting plans and programmes aimed at developing youth and sport movement in Bahrain. He commended the sports supplements, Radio and TV and social media users, stressing their role in boosting his enthusiasm to win Ironman World Championship, held recently in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, the USA. He paid tribute to HM King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa who encouraging him, hailing the royal support which enabled him to clinch the Ironman World Championship, held recently in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, the USA. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa credited the Bahraini team which included Mohammed Al-Qais, Khalid Bouallay and others, hailing that strenuous efforts to achieve outstanding performance on the 40th anniversary of the Ironman World Championship. He extended thanks to all those who followed up his landmark achievement and congratulated him on winning the Ironman World Championship, held recently in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, the USA. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa slammed those suspicious voices which sought to belittle his landmark sports performance to no avail. He revealed that certain parties even contacted the Ironman World Championship organizing committee in a bid to deny the news but their designs were thwarted by high-level officials in charge of the global championship.more
