Bahrain Weightlifting & Bodybuilding Federation (BWF)’s board of directors has congratulated Royal Guard Commander Staff Brigadier HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa the representative of HM the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, on HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s issuance of Royal Order appointing His Highness a Member of the Supreme Defence Council, wishing him success. The federation directors affirmed that His Highness is capable of translating the Royal trust in the achievement of the Supreme Defence Council’s strategic goals in view of His Highness’s leadership capabilities and faithful youth spirit in serving the Kingdom in all fields under the wise leadership.more
The World Junior Men-Women’s Epee Championships (U20 Men-Women’s Épée) opened today in Bahrain. His Majesty’s Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa gave the for go-ahead for the tournament, being organized by Bahrain Fencing Association for the second year in a row. Twenty-six countries are taking part in the two-day championship, being held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Nasser. SCYS Assistant Secretary-General, BOC Secretary-General Abdulrahman Sadiq, Bahrain Fencing Association Chairman Shaikh Ibrahim bin Salman Al-Khalifa, BOC board member, Bahrain Table Tennis Association Chairperson Shaikha Hayat bint Abdul-Aziz Al-Khalifa and other officials honoured the top three winners. HH Shaikh Nasser paid tribute to HM King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa for supporting the hosting of sport championships in Bahrain. “The hosting of the World Junior Men-Women’s Epee Championships (U20 Men-Women’s Épée) reflects Bahrain standing and ability to organize such championships”, said HH Shaikh Nasser. "Bahrain is Proud of You" is a Work of Art produced by Bahrain TV and dedicated to HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his achievements and support of youth and sports development. "Having learned from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Highness has grown to become a daring knight, a brilliant sportsman, a humanitarian leader, and an inspiration and ally to youth. His great achievements extend to many fields, moving me to pen a poem." With these words, Fatima Al-Dhaen began to speak about her idea of ??writing a poem in English, dedicated to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Charity Organisation. "Bahrain is Proud of You" is sung by the artiste Resta, composed by Anno Domini, with montage by Ayedh Al-Kaabi and production of Bahrain TV. She said, "The great achievements of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa in various fields inspired me to present a new artwork that highlights these accomplishments, most notably in sports, youth, charity and humanitarian work, in addition to His Highness’ endeavours in promoting Bahrain’s economic developments and the Kingdom's strategy of coexistence and tolerance and pursuit of world peace." She added, "I began to work on the song which I dedicate to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and the singer, producer and montage expert were chosen to create an artistic atmosphere that brings out this work of art in a brilliant manner befitting the status of His Highness and his great achievements. We were successful due to the unison of all efforts in working as a single team." She pointed out, "This artwork was a new experience in terms of its components. Hosted by Rabbi Marvin Hier, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Charity Organisation, visited the Museum of Tolerance at the Simon Wiesenthal Centre in Los Angeles, California, before the inauguration of the Bahrain Declaration and the King Hamad Global Centre for Interfaith Dialogue and Peaceful Coexistence. A number of American students had a direct meeting with His Highness Shaikh Nasser at the museum. His Highness allowed for open discussion of youth's ideas and aspirations regarding common ambitions to achieve intellectual convergence. They also discussed the contributions of the new generation in forming visions, building bridges of peace and tolerance and accepting other cultures and religions. This stemmed from His Highness’ conviction that direct communication with youth is the most successful way to find common ground. His Highness stressed that peace and tolerance are not merely slogans, but are parts of our lifestyles as Bahrainis, which we have practiced for centuries and wish to extend to the world. His Highness added, "If there is darkness in some part of this world, the coming one will be more beautiful in light of peace, love and coexistence. We are all part of one world." His Highness toured sections of the Museum of Tolerance which innovatively presented historical documents pertaining to religious tolerance, making the museum a unique piece of art, which His Highness commended.more
is Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on His Highness’s honorable achievement in the Ironman 70.3 World Championships, for Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. HH Shaikh Nasser completed all stages of the race within a record 4:27:21 hours’ time as follows: swimming 1:93 km in 31:30, cycling 90.1 km within 2:22, running 21.1 km in 1:28. His Highness competed and won the 27th place among 3,000 triathletes from around the world. HH Shaikh Nasser expressed his gratitude and appreciation of His Majesty the King’s patronage and for supporting His Highness’s participation in the international championship that was His Highness’s real driver and incentive to complete all stages of the race and achievement of this honorable new achievement in harmony with the aspirations of His Majesty the King. HH Shaikh Nasser said this achievement could not have been accomplished had it not been for the care and unlimited support of His Majesty the Principal Patron and Supporter of sportspeople in the Kingdom of Bahrain. HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Chairman of Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA), has welcomed Tawfiq Al Salehi, Chief Editor of "Al Mayadeen" magazine, Nasser Shahroor, Consultant of the Magazine and Cherian Mathews, President of the Company assigned to oversee "Al Mayadeen" magazine. During the meeting, HH Shaikh Isa received the 22nd edition of the magazine from Al Salehi, who extended to HH the greetings of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee. The cover page of the Magazine features a portrait of HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, while its inside pages include an exclusive interview with His Highness who shed light on various issues, including the basketball sport in the Kingdom of Bahrain and relative development plans as well as HH's social and volunteer initiatives. On this occasion, HH Shaikh Isa praised the efforts being produced by HH Shaikh Nasser towards upgrading sport, youth, humanitarian and media sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain in line with the country's wise leadership's vision. HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa underlined that HH Shaikh Nasser's interest and follow-up contributed in advancing the aforementioned fields. HH Shaikh Isa explained that the "Al Mayadeen" Magazine which was founded by HH Shaikh Nasser, is one of the brightest media ideas that contribute to highlighting the remarkable achievements of young people in Bahrain and supporting youth to take an advanced position in the development process in the Kingdom. HH Shaikh Isa pointed out that the interaction of officials in the Kingdom and abroad with the magazine confirms the great prestige and reputation that it enjoys at the local and external levels. HH Shaikh Nasser hosted a ceremony which included various entertainment activities and programmes with the participation of the children of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the children of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Athletic Association and the children and families of the BDF and the Ministry of Interior brave men who fell while in the line of duty while combating terrorism and defending national sovereignty against greedy external hegemony. His Highness conveyed the congratulations His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the families and children of patriotic fallen servicemen on Eid Al Fitr, and His Majesty’s wishing them success in all life’s aspects, affirming that the families and children of fallen servicemen are the source of our national pride and that their education, upbringing and custody constitute the kingdom's keen policy led by His Majesty the King. Information Affairs Minister, Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi, Foreign Affairs Ministry’s Undersecretary for International Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and the Dean of Diplomatic Corps and Kuwaiti Ambassador to Bahrain, Shaikh Azzam Al-Sabah. On the occasion, HH Shaikh Nasser conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, RCO’s Honorary President, to all orphans and their families. He valued highly the royal fatherly care for Bahraini orphans, constant support to RCO and keenness to provide all kinds of services to affiliates to ensure decent living for them. He also cited RCO’s winning the HRH Princess Sabeeka Award for Productive Families, 2017, HH Shaikh Nasser’s crowning as the "Arab Giving Knight" at the fourth Arab Giving Forum, organized by the Zayed Giving Initiative, as well as Shaikh Nasser’s obtaining a thanks and appreciation certificate from the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres in recognition of Bahrain’s key role in delivering aid to all disaster-affected areas. Dr. Al-Sayed expressed pride in the Kingdom’s ranking first in the Arab world and 13th at the international level in the 2015 Giving Index and RCO’s winning the W 3’s golden award for non-profit organizations for its website, as well its winning the silver award granted by the Davey Awards for the content of its website. Dr. Al-Sayed highlighted RCO’s recent projects, including the Bahrain School in Jordan, two Azhari institutes and two health centres in Egypt, the opening of two vocational training institutes in the Philippines and the funding of five students in the Islamic University of Gaza. He voiced pride in RCO’s achievements which, he said, have been attained thanks to the leadership’s support. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, hit a new personal record in triathlon competitions after posting a time of 04:57 minutes in the Challenge Mogan-Gran Canaria. Organised by Challenge Company, the event featured an elite group of 500 athletes, with HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, spearheading the Bahrain National Triathlon Team, finishing third in the event. Speaking after crossing the finish line, HH Shaikh Nasser expressed sincerest gratitude and appreciation for the follow-up of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, to the event, stating that HM's support was decisive in motivating the team and fueling its members with enthusiasm to achieve honourable results. It's worth noting that HH Shaikh Nasser was congratulated by HM the King on the occasion of the new personal record HH set during the event. Third Place Besides HH Shaikh Nasser, the Bahrain National Triathlon Team composed of Mikel Calahorra, Nawaf Al Dhaen, Salim Al Dossary, Mohammed Al Qees, Ahmed Al Hajj, Ali Janahi, Hamad Al Muraisi, Jamal Al Dossery and Erik. The event covered a distance of 113km, spread out over three courses including swimming, cycling and running. HH Shaikh Nasser completed the swimming race in 35:3 seconds, while HH finished the cycling and running races in 2:50 minutes and 1:32 minutes respectively. It was HH's first appearance in a Triathlon event held on European soil. Furthermore, HH Shaikh Nasser expressed utmost happiness and pride at the achieved results, praising the team members' spirit and readiness. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, arrived yesterday in the Chechen Republic, where he was received by HE Mr Ramzan Akhmadovich Kadyrov, the President of the country. Welcoming HH Shaikh Nasser to this friendly country also was a number of senior officials, including the Prime Minister, the Speaker of the Parliament and several ministers of the Chechen Republic as well as HE Mr Ahmed Al Saati, the Bahraini Ambassador to the Chechen Republic. After a brief break, HH Shaikh Nasser exchanged friendly talks with HE the President of Chechen about the close relationships between both countries and their people. Moreover, HH Shaikh Nasser extended to HE Mr Kadyrov the greetings and appreciation of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as HM's wishes to the Chechen Republic for constant success and prosperity in various sectors. "HM the King is keen to build strong and interrelated relations with the Chechen Republic and to consolidate good relations between the two friendly countries, which are based on solid pillars of communication, love, mutual cooperation and bilateral trust," HH said. HH commended the results achieved by HE Mr Kadyrov's visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, where HE met HM the King, contributing to enhancing the march of the two friendly countries towards achieving more accomplishments that meet the aspirations of the people of both countries.
