Under the patronage of HM the King’s Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, and Board of Trustees Chairman of the Royal Charity Organisation (RCO), HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, RCO is organising the “Funoon” (Arts) event at the Seef Mall in Manama, including an art expo and a number of activities for all family members. The event includes an art exhibition featuring talented orphans’ drawings, the outcome of a year-long training programme aimed at developing their artistic skills, as well as a collection of paintings donated by a number of Bahraini artists. The proceeds of the event will be allocated to orphans' education projects. The event also features daily drawing sessions by artists to educate the participants about drawing techniques, in addition to other activities such as drawing on glass, walls, balloons, pottery and clothes, as well as in the dark. RCO-affiliate orphans also share their drawings with Seef Mall visitors to showcase their talent and creativity. Among the surprises of the first day was a drawing by 16-year-old Ahmed Rahmah which was appreciated by HH Shaikh Nasser, who gave directive to honour him. RCO Secretary-General, Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed extended sincere thanks to HH Shaikh Nasser for his interest in RCO’s charity work, noting that the event aims to showcase RCO affiliates’ talents, and increase RCO’s resources. He expressed appreciation to all the participants, artists who donated their drawings and the Seef Mall management. Dr. Al-Sayed also expressed deepest thanks to the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery, for being the first to buy drawings for more than BD 10,000. He also lauded the efforts of RCO’s Resources Development Director, Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa for his efforts to organise the event. The event will continue at Seef Mall until January 20, and will be open to the public from 10 am to 10 pm.more
His Majesty the King’s Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport Affairs (SCYS) Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa announced that his camels would participate in the second edition of the King Abdulaziz Camel Festival. The festival, which is named after the founder of Saudi Arabia, is being held under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud at Al Sayaheed, in Al-Dahna’a. The festival management has lined up a series of heritage activities on the sidelines of the event. The camels of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa will be registered and assessed tomorrow, Wednesday, before competing in the individual races in "Al-Majaheem" category. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa said that the participation in the festival followed directives from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa in support of Bahraini and Gulf heritage. "The participation in the King Abdulaziz Camel Festival aims at consolidating heritage and traditions and sending a message to present and future generations to preserve heritage and traditions towards strengthening national belonging", he said. He paid tribute to the Saudi leader for patronizing the festival, which represents a catalyst to participants and visits to promote Gulf culture and preserve heritage, stressing the importance of camels in the history of the Arabian Gulf region.more
Representative of HM the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has expressed utmost appreciation to Bahrain TV for its full cooperation and quick completion of the administrative and technical procedures with the relevant parties to enable the Bahrain Sports Channel to broadcast the Bahrain-Oman match live on Tuesday. The match is within the semi-finals of the 23rd Gulf Cup, currently hosts by Kuwait. HH Shaikh Nasser’s directives to broadcast the crucial match live are within his initiatives to support the National Football team during the Gulf Cup. They are also in line with his keenness on providing an additional opportunity to Bahraini football fans to watch the key match live through the Bahrain Sports Channel. The Bahrain Sports Channel will broadcast the Bahrain-Oman match live in response to HH Shaikh Nasser’s directives, in recognition of his multiple initiatives in support of the national football team. more
Personal Representative of HM the King for Charity and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has stressed the crucial role played by sports fans in the qualification of the Bahrain National Football team for the semi-finals of the 23rd Gulf Cup, currently hosted by Kuwait. He affirmed that the presence of Bahraini spectators was a source of strength for the players during their last group stage match in which they managed to book their semi-final spot. HH Shaikh Nasser added that the national team was also supported by football fans in Bahrain, who, he said, was clear in the celebrations that prevailed across the country following the victory. HH Shaikh Nasser asserted that the loyal Bahraini spectators are always keen to stand with the national team to encourage the players, stressing that the next match will be massively attended by Bahraini spectators to secure a positive result and qualify for the final match. We are keen to support the team fully in the Gulf Cup, and we will stand by the players in order to achieve outstanding results in the tournament. The Bahraini players displayed their outstanding level, were disciplined and fully concentrated during the match, which helped secure a positive result that ensured them a spot in last four, HH Shaikh Nasser said, adding the team’s excellent performance and qualification have filled the hearts of Bahrainis and spectators with joy. HH Shaikh Nasser called for focusing on the semi-final match against Oman so as to be able to qualify for the final match, voicing confidence in the team’s ability to win the next match thanks to the players’ advanced level. The Commemoration Day, which falls on December 17, is an opportunity to pay homage to the late servicemen and commemorate their bravery and sacrifices for the sake of defending the nation’s sovereignty and protecting its citizens and residents, HH Shaikh Nasser said. HH Shaikh Nasser stressed that HM the King’s decision to associate the Commemoration Day with the Anniversary of HM the King’s Accession to the Throne reflects the royal pride in the sacrifices of the late soldiers, and keenness to affirm that the nation will not forget those who lost their lives while defending the homeland. He pointed out that the sacrifices of Bahraini late soldiers, noting that they will be granted heavenly rewards. "I am proud of living with the martyrs of Bahrain and having close ties with them. Information Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD) today praised the noble initiatives of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee in supporting and empowering the Bahraini youth and his kind patronage of the Peacemaking Youth Forum2017, in appreciation of youths' pivotal role in the achievement of peace and pushing the comprehensive sustainable development process. The minister affirmed that this global youth forum comes within the keenness of the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and his wise government led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa with support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, on investment on youth and their qualification to effectively contribute in the country’s ongoing developmental and urbanization strides. He affirmed the ministry’s and the BIPD’s keenness on preparation and qualification of Bahraini youths to develop their productive, creative capabilities and brush up their skills and enlighten them across the media and include them in the training programmes aimed to impart sound democratic ethical practices and the suave expression of opinions and immunize them against destructive extremist ideologies and inform them about the importance of upholding the progressive values of HM the King’s reforms. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, gifted a brand new car to the Saudi volunteer who got involved in a car crash during the IRONMAN 70.3 Middle East Championship Bahrain, in which His Highness Shaikh Nasser has achieved first place at military and amateur level. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa announced at the end of the closing ceremony of the championship that he presented the car as a special gift to the Saudi volunteer Saud Tawfiq Al Dhahiri, in compensation for his lost car. Al Dhahiri had a traffic accident when he was helping one of the contestants. The participant was suffering from a minor injury and withdrew from the race. During Al Dhahiri's help, a car was coming from behind and crashed his vehicle, causing injuries to Al Dhahiri, which required him also to be transferred to the hospital. As a result, His Highness Shaikh Nasser presented a special gift to the volunteer in the form of a brand new car. On the occasion, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa stressed that the Saudi volunteer had shown the finest examples of dedication. "Despite the obstacles he faced while performing his duties, Al Dhaheri was keen to help the contestant to continue the race in the best possible way," His Highness Shaikh Nasser said. "Am very keen to provide full support to the Saudi volunteer. This gift is a token of appreciation for his efforts in the Championship to compensate him for the loss of his car, especially as he was working in his own vehicle in the tournament," His Highness added. Al Dhahiri expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for this gesture, which he described as "humanitarian", pointing out that this initiative is not strange to His Highness, who is keen to provide full support to young people. Al Dhahiri, who studies at the University of Bahrain, confirmed that he had forgotten the incident while he was looking at the participants. "When I got involved in the accident, my eyes were on the contestant. I was overwhelmed when I saw him unhurt, despite the pain I was suffering," he said. more

It is also an added achievement to the Kingdom of Bahrain, strengthening the prestigious position held by the Kingdom in sports in general and this one in particular. His Highness added: "We praise the honorable level presented by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa during the course of the race, which he succeeded in finishing in a well-deserved manner, and achieving a new record, thus surpassing the (2000) participants in this race varying between amateurs and professionals of his age group". HH Shaikh Khalid pointed out that this result was only achieved by the strong preparation and focus of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa for the race, and His Highness's knowledge of the strength of the race, which led him to distribute his physical effort in the stages of the competitions, thus resulting in his success. The Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, today received the Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity and Youth Affairs, President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, at Riffa Palace. The meeting followed the conclusion of the 2017 IMMAF World Championships of Amateur MMA which was hosted at the Khalifa Sports City last week. The Bahrain team came second overall, winning two Gold and three Bronze medals at the 2017 IMMAF World Championships During the meeting, His Highness Shaikh Nasser introduced the Bahraini winners of the 2017 IMMAF World Championships and the 2017 IFBB World Junior and Master Championships. The 2017 IMMAF World Championships saw a broad range of competitions and attracted over 254 athletes from 51 different countries The Deputy King welcomed the achievements of the winners, and highlighted that this is a unique opportunity to share with the world Bahrain’s significant achievements in sports and youth development. The Deputy King also highlighted that Bahrain continues to build on its rich trading history to attract world-class events across various sectors. The Deputy King went on to recognise the important role the sports sector plays in youth development, adding that the sector is increasing Bahrain’s international standing. The Deputy King extended his congratulations to the winners, while emphasising the role of His Highness Shaikh Nasser and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS), President of the West Asian Athletics Association and the President of the Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA) in forming partnerships with international sports organisations.
