Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander, met with The Rt Hon Stephen Doughty MP, Minister of State at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom, as part of the 22nd IISS “Manama Dialogue 2026”, in the presence of Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Jaber Al Khalifa, Deputy National Security Advisor, and Shaikh Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Strategic Security Bureau.

His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa praised the close historical ties between Bahrain and the UK, as well as their strategic partnership and close cooperation across various fields, emphasising the commitment to continue strengthening these relations and developing cooperation and joint coordination, particularly in the security, military and defence sectors, in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two countries.

The meeting discussed a number of topics and issues of mutual interest and exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments. It also stressed the importance of consolidating the foundations of regional and international security and stability as well as ensuring the security of vital waterways and freedom of navigation to support regional and global development and prosperity.
