Caballo De Mar, the horse owned by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee for the Victorious Forever team, won first place at the Paris Longchamp racecourse over a distance of 4,000 metres, winning the Qatar Prix du Cadran for the second race of the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe Group 1. On the occasion, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa affirmed that this victory reflects the high standing that Bahraini equestrian sports have achieved on the international stage and embodies the result of continuous work and the ambitious vision to raise Bahrain’s flag in global events. His Highness praised the efforts of jockey Tom Marquand and trainer George Scott, as well as their tireless work in preparing the horse to achieve this well-deserved victory in one of the most important Group 1 races in Europe. The Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, and Captain of the Royal Endurance Team His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa was crowned the winner of the Rushford Endurance 120-km race held in the United Kingdom, in the presence of the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and the Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment, Deputy Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club High Committee and member of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad secured first place after successfully completing the four stages of the race amid widespread participation from riders. On the occasion, His Highness affirmed that winning first place in the race is a great motivation for the team ahead of its important upcoming championships, stressing the determination to highlight the status of Bahraini endurance in international forums. His Highness also affirmed achieving many goals during this participation, as the riders gained more exposure and experience, which will contribute to raising their technical abilities in future participations. His Highness congratulated all the riders who won first place in the various races. His Highness beat Abdullah Al Bastaki from the United Arab Emirates, who came in second, while Singh from the MRM team came in third. The Royal Endurance Team secured second and third place in the 100-km race, with Zuhair Mohammed coming in second and Asim Janahi coming in third. The event of the 50 km track was attended by several sports officials in Bahrain. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad highlighted that the launch of the cycling track is one of the strategic steps by the Kingdom to promote sports as a lifestyle. The initiative aligns with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to enhance quality of life and ensure citizens' health and well being. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad also commended the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for its comprehensive development plans, including encouraging sports as a key element of a healthy lifestyle. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad emphasised that the track is a significant addition to Bahrain’s sports achievements. It is the first of its kind in the country and the longest in distance, strategically located near key areas, making it an ideal destination for cyclists. The inauguration began with HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad leading a ceremonial ride with professional cyclists from various national federations along the track, concluding at a commemorative monument marking the inauguration. The International Equestrian Federation (FEI) honoured His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Captain of the Royal Endurance Team, for his global accomplishments as the only Arab rider to achieve such distinction in international endurance racing. The recognition marks HH Shaikh Nasserbin Hamad’s consecutive victories in the FEI Endurance World Championships, including his latest win in September in Monpazier, France, over a 160km course, and the 2022 championship held in Bou Thib, UAE. The FEI also acknowledged HH Shaikh Nasserbin Hamad's ongoing contributions to the sport and his pivotal role in advancing endurance racing globally. On behalf of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Bahrain's Ambassador to the UAE and Honourary Vice President of the FEI, received the award from Ingmar De Vos, FEI President, during the FEI General Assembly in Abu Dhabi. His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee; and His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment; other dignitaries; and the children of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad and HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad. HH Shaikh Nasser and the Royal Endurance Team celebrated the victory, which was met with widespread applause from the audience. The horse Everest La Majorie was awarded the Best Horse Condition Award. This marks the second consecutive year that His Highness Shaikh Nasser has secured the world title, following his victory in the previous championship held in Bou Thib, UAE. His Highness completed the race in 8 hours and 32 minutes, ahead of the UAE’s Saeed Ahmed Al Harbi, who finished second, and France’s Melody Theolissat, who took third. HH Shaikh Nasser crowned Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, the winner of the 20th edition of F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, in addition to Sergio Pérez, Red Bull driver, and Carlos Sainz Jr., Ferrari driver, who claimed the second and third places in the race, respectively. HH Shaikh Nasser congratulated the winners, and wished the other drivers the best of luck in the upcoming F1 championship rounds, praising their distinguished performance during the 20th edition of the F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2024. Held near Al-Reef Island, IRONMAN Bahrain 2030 includes swimming, cycling and running competitions. HH Shaikh Nasser confirmed his distinguished capabilities as he managed to win the Monpazier Endurance Championship, just six months after claiming the World Endurance Championship in Abu Dhabi, riding the same horse, Darco La Majorie. On the occasion, HH Shaikh Nasser affirmed that the new victory adds to the rich record of the endurance sport in Bahrain, thanks to the constant care of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the unwavering support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Jockeys from many countries took part in the 160-km race, including Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Algeria, France, Austria, Romania, Australia, Chinese Taipei, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Switzerland, USA and Colombia.more
His Majesty the King‘s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa congratulated Al Khaldiya Club on winning the Nasser bin Hamad Premier League Championship (2022-2023). HH Shaikh Nasser attributed the first trophy in the history of the club to the dedicated efforts exerted by the administrative and technical staff, as well as players and affiliates. HH Shaikh Nasser commended the technical level attained by Al Khaldiya’s players as well as their determination to achieve their goal and lift the trophy. “This trophy will motivate the club to have more achievements in the future”, he said, praising at the same time the efforts of the members of the technical and administrative staff. HH Shaikh Nasser commended the efforts made by Al Khaldiya Club chairman and board members, hailing their dedication in their work which enabled the team to clinch the first title. He also commended the performance and level of the other national clubs during the Nasser Premier League matches, hailing their resolve to serve football in Bahrain and further enhance its level.
