His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the historic achievement by Bahrain’s handball team, which won the gold medal for the first time in its history at the 20th Asian Games held in Aichi–Nagoya, Japan, following its victory over its Qatari counterparts in the final.

His Highness praised the considerable efforts made by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, as well as his ongoing support of national teams.

His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa also commended the role played by the Bahrain Handball Federation, chaired by Ali Isa Is'haqi, in preparing the national team and creating the right conditions for them, while also appreciating the contributions of everyone who played a part in achieving this victory.

His Highness affirmed that the members of the national team had risen to the occasion, setting an exemplary standard of determination, resolve and fighting spirit, and stressed that their outstanding performance led Bahraini handball to the top of the Asian podium and written a new chapter in its record of achievements.
