His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, received a delegation from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) delegation, upon their visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain as part of the U.S. Embassy's sports diplomacy programme, marking the 250th Anniversary of the Adoption of the Declaration of Independence. Stephanie Hallett, U.S. Ambassador to Bahrain, was present.

His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa affirmed the importance of sports diplomacy in strengthening international relations, fostering closer ties between peoples, and increasing cooperation and the exchange of expertise. His Highness noted that Bahrain has cemented its global position in mixed martial arts, thanks to the ambitious vision of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and his continuous efforts to develop the sport and nurture champions, to strengthen the Kingdom’s leadership and international presence.

His Highness highlighted the importance of the UFC delegation’s visit and the opportunity it presents to develop partnerships with international sporting organisations and exchange expertise, which advances sporting development and strengthens mutual cooperation.

The UFC delegation commended Bahrain’s efforts in developing mixed martial arts, emphasising that the Kingdom’s significant achievements reflect its advanced standing and influential presence on the global sporting stage.
