His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Captain of the Royal Endurance Team, attended the veterinary examination for the Samorin International Endurance Race, hosted by Slovakia.
His Highness observed the examination procedures and the readiness of the participating horses.
His Highness will take part in the 160km Samorin International Endurance Race, while Her Highness Shaikha Sheema bint Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa will take part in the 100km International Race, His Highness Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa will take part in the 120km International Open Race, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa will take part in the 120km International Junior and Youth Race.
His Highness led the Royal Endurance Team’s final training session for the race with the participation of his children.
His Highness affirmed that taking part in the Samorin International Race is an important milestone in the preparation programme for the coming stages, noting that European competitions provide jockeys and horses with the opportunity to gain experience and compete at the highest levels, which enhances their technical and physical readiness for upcoming events, foremost among which is the World Endurance Championship, which requires comprehensive preparation.
His Highness added that the Royal Endurance Team continues to implement its preparatory plans for young riders according to a carefully designed programme focused on achieving the highest levels of readiness and meeting the qualification requirements for participation in the World Championships for Young Rider and Juniors, scheduled to be held in Samorin in 2027. This will be a suitable opportunity to familiarise themselves with the terrain of the Samorin Village courses, which hosted the World Endurance Championship in 2016. His Highness wished all the competing riders’ success to deliver outstanding performances that reflect the prestigious standing of Bahraini endurance on the international stage.
The participation of His Highness’s children in the Samorin International Endurance Race is of particular significance, as it marks their first international appearance in endurance racing abroad, following preparation and training to gain experience and compete globally.
The Royal Endurance Team will compete in the Samorin International Endurance Race with a number of riders across various categories and distances, as part of the team’s commitment to meeting qualification requirements, enhancing the readiness of riders and horses, and achieving the best possible results on the international stage.
