His Highness the National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander and Secretary-General of the Supreme Defence Council participates in the virtual meeting of defence ministers on the multinational military mission in the Strait of Hormuzالترجمة

Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander and Secretary-General of the Supreme Defence Council, participated in the virtual meeting of defence ministers on the multinational military mission in the Strait of Hormuz, at the invitation of the United Kingdom and the French Republic, with participation from more than 40 countries.

During the meeting, participants discussed the latest security developments in the region and ways to strengthen joint international efforts aimed at supporting and securing freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as mechanisms for coordination and cooperation among the countries participating in the multinational mission.

The meeting also addressed the importance of enhancing the security of commercial and civilian vessels, supporting operations to protect shipping lanes, and carrying out maritime mine clearance operations, to ensure the smooth flow of international trade and the safety of maritime navigation, alongside supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and strengthening regional and international stability, while calling for more countries to join in the future to contribute to these joint efforts and enhance the effectiveness of international maritime operations.
