His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister on the national handball team winning the Asian Handball Championship for the first time in its history, after defeating the Qatari team in the final match, which was held in Kuwait.

His Highness affirmed that this continental achievement adds to the Kingdom of Bahrain's record of sporting successes and reflects the unlimited support the sports sector receives from the leadership, which contributed to the national teams reaching regional and continental podiums.

His Highness praised the great efforts of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and his tireless work and developmental vision, which advanced sports in the Kingdom.

His Highness noted the high technical level and performance of the national team throughout the championship, praising the efforts of the Bahrain Handball Federation, the technical and administrative staff, and all those who contributed to this success.
