His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa attends the opening of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week and honouring the winners of the Zayed Sustainability Prizeالترجمة
In the presence of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of Bapco Energies, attended the opening ceremony of "Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026", the global platform for accelerating sustainability progress, held under the theme "The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go" at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre "ADNEC".
The opening ceremony was also attended by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and a number of heads of state, heads of government and representatives, as well as experts, stakeholders and specialists in the field of sustainability from around the world.
On the occasion, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad affirmed that Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is a pivotal global platform for enhancing cooperation among governments, the private sector and the international community, to accelerate the transition towards a more sustainable future through the exchange of experiences, integration of efforts and development of practical solutions that support energy security and drive sustainable development.
His Highness praised the UAE's leading role in supporting sustainability and climate action at the regional and international levels, and its outstanding efforts in organising and hosting this global event. The opening ceremony began with the UAE's national anthem, followed by a film on the role of integration between systems and sectors in building a sustainable future. Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the United Arab Emirates and Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Masdar", delivered a speech on the occasion.

Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026 aims to chart a roadmap for advancing global progress and connecting global goals with leaders of positive change, by focusing on advancing the clean energy sector in the coming phase, expanding financing, formulating innovative solutions based on artificial intelligence, and ensuring comprehensive transformations.
