His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister on the global achievement of McLaren, owned by Mumtalakat Holding Company, in winning the 2025 Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship at the conclusion of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina Circuit. McLaren driver Lando Norris finished the season at the top of the drivers' championship after finishing third in the race, with his teammate Oscar Piastri taking second place.

His Highness affirmed that this remarkable achievement reflects the insightful vision and continuous support of His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to advance the sports sector and develop global sports investments, which made the Kingdom of Bahrain a key partner in the successes of motorsports around the world. This is a continuation of the achievements made by the team after winning the Formula 1 World Constructors’ Championship for the second consecutive time and marks the first time in 27 years that the team has secured both titles.
