Representative of HM the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Royal Charity Organisation (RCO)'s Board of Trustees, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has extended sincere thanks and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his constant support to charity and humanitarian work, as well as for his constant keenness to provide all kinds of assistance and care for the orphans and widows to ensure them a decent and stable life.
HH Shaikh Nasser also praised the support accorded to RCO by the government, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier. HH Shaikh made the statements during the Charity Auction, held by RCO, in association with Sovereign Art Foundation, on the sidelines of the Fourth Charity Art Exhibition. The event was attended by ministers, officials and representatives of public and private institutions. HH Shaikh Nasser stressed that the auction strengthens social partnership and instills the charity work culture in the minds of students, adding that the art expo promotes charity work and helping of others through art and drawing. He praised the Education Ministry, the Sovereign Art Foundation and all public and private schools for their cooperation and participation in the fourth charity auction and art expo. RCO's secretary-general Dr. Mustafa Al Sayed, extended deepest gratitude and appreciation to HM the King, RCO’s Honorary President, for his for continuous attention and care for all orphans and widows and the provision of dignified living for all. Dr. Al Sayed lauded the kind support provided to RCO from the government led by HRH the Prime Minister, with the backing of HRH the Crown Prince, lauding the efforts of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa in leading the Organisation's work, in line with the vision and aspirations of HM the King. RCO secretary-general also expressed thanks and appreciation to the President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, for her patronage of the fourth artistic charity expo, paying tribute to the Education Ministry, the Sovereign Art Foundation, schools and universities for their participation and support for activating community partnership in supporting orphans in the kingdom. During the auction, the ball of the UFEA Champions League Final, which was signed by HM King Hamad, HH Shaikh Nasser and Real Madrid, Karim Benzema, was sold at BD 55,000, and Benzema’s final’s shoes at BD 8,000. The winning drawings of the winning students were also sold. The proceeds of the fourth charity artistic expo reached about half a million Bahraini Dinars, which will be used to supporting RCO’s educational and health activities. Sovereign Art Foundation also granted the five winning students BD 500 each.
