Nasser bin Hamad: Youth Empowerment is the Cornerstone of our National Approach and the Key to our Future الترجمة
His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, affirmed that Youth City 2030 is a tangible embodiment of the royal vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Moreover, His Highness Shaikh Nasser stated that this initiative directly reflects His Majesty the King's dedication to empowering young people and activating their role in advancing the Kingdom’s comprehensive national development.
He further stated that advancing youth, developing their skills, nurturing their capabilities, and supporting their innovations form the very essence of the national and governmental approach.
“This direction, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, is aimed at preparing a qualified generation of Bahrainis capable of leading the future with efficiency and competence,” His Highness stressed.
These remarks came during His Highness's visit to Youth City 2030, where he was accompanied by His Excellency Mr Aymen bin Tawfeeq Almoayed, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), and Her Excellency Ms Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs.
Commenting further, His Highness explained that investing in young talents is the surest path to creating a prosperous and sustainable future. He noted that empowering youth through specialised training and modern knowledge opens broader horizons for their effective participation in the national development process.
Furthermore, His Highness praised the distinguished programmes and advanced training curriculum offered by Youth City 2030, stressing that the continued successes achieved by the City over the past years reflect the soundness of its approach. This, His Highness affirmed, has established it as a leading regional benchmark for youth support and capacity building.
“Youth City 2030 has become a role model for introducing unique opportunities for young people. Today, it represents an inspiring developmental experience that young men and women are eager to join, thanks to the high-quality prospects it provides. These prospects contribute to building leadership qualities and strengthening their abilities to lead the future with confidence and skill,” His Highness underscored.
“What we have witnessed, from the innovative and distinguished programmes alongside the wide participation from youth, has reinforced our conviction in the importance of continuing Youth City 2030 in the coming years. This must be done while maintaining the high standard of training that meets the aspirations of our youth and prepares them to face the challenges of the future with confidence and capability,” His Highness concluded.
During the tour, His Highness was briefed on the City's key offerings, which are structured around five main centres: Science and Technology; Arts and Culture; Leadership and Entrepreneurship; Media and Entertainment; and Sports and Health.
These centres collectively provide over 5,500 training opportunities through 195 specialised programmes, in addition to supporting 84 entrepreneurial projects and hosting 150 accompanying events.
It is worth noting that the entire initiative is managed with high efficiency by 248 young Bahraini volunteers.
