HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad directs to study, implement Youth Summit recommendations
Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has stressed that studying the recommendations drawn by the youth at the sport summit and mapping out a clear-cut plan to carry out those recommendations underscore the trend of the Kingdom of Bahrain in further engaging the youth in developing various sectors and overcoming challenges facing them. He pointed out that listening to the youth and conversing with them is an inherent approach in the kingdom to engage them in shaping a brighter future for Bahrain.
HH Shaikh Nasser was speaking at a virtual meeting held today with the ministers participating in the Youth Summit 2020. The meeting was held in the presence of First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The ministers in attendance were Minister of Education Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi, Minister of Finance and National Economy Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Labour and Social Development Jamil bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunication Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Minister of Housing Bassim bin Yaqoob Al Hamer, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Youth and Sport Affairs Ayman bin Tawfeeq Al Moayed, Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak and SCYS Secretary General Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa said an invitation was addressed to the youth to participate in the Youth Summit 2020 to listen to their views to overcome challenges. He noted that the youth responded to the invitation and contributed actively to discussing with the decision-makers the challenges and providing realistic solutions to them. HH praised the efforts of the ministers who are keen on listening to the youth’s visions and engaging them in problem-solving to overcome challenges facing various sectors.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa asserted that the recommendations of the Youth Summit are being considered seriously to map out an executive plan for their implementation, which reflects keenness to engage the youth as key players in handling challenges and shaping the future of Bahrain.
HH discussed the recommendations with the ministers and directed them to study them thoroughly and map out an executive plan for their implementation in phases. He also directed to work on launching an application, “the Advisor”, to shed light on the main challenges facing the ministries and receive solutions and proposals regarding them from the youth.
