HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad hails Bahrain-UAE ties
The ninth mass wedding was held today at the University of Bahrain (UoB), in the presence of His Majesty the King’s Representative for Charity Works and Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) Board of Trustees’ Chairman His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa.
A total of 1200 brides and grooms tied the knot in the largest ever mass wedding supported by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan Foundation. The ceremony was also attended by UAE Ambassador to Bahrain Shaikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Southern Governor HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa, RCO Secretary-General Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayyed, Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan Foundation director-general Mohammed Khoury.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa paid to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, RCO Honorary Chairman, hailing his role in promoting humanitarian and charity work and supporting Bahraini youth.
He praised deep-rooted fraternal relations binding the Kingdom of the Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and commended the Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan Foundation for supporting Bahraini youth, hailing the mass wedding as embodying strong historic relations between the two brotherly countries and peoples.
He extended congratulations and greetings to the brides and grooms on this occasion, praying to Allah the Almighty to bless with happiness and felicity in their married life.
UAE Ambassador to Bahrain Shaikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al-Nahyan thanked HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa for gracing the ceremony, commending the programmes and initiatives sponsored by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan Foundation in Bahrain.
He said that the mass weddings sponsored by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan Foundation have so far befitted around 6000 brides and grooms over the past years, including 1200 in 2020.
RCO Secretary-General Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayyed paid tribute to HM the King for his royal keenness on promoting humanitarian and charity work in Bahrain and abroad and supporting Bahraini, youth, the cornerstone of development and progress.
He expressed deepest thanks and gratitude to UAE President HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan for supporting the mass weeding through the Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan Foundation in Bahrain.
